Not taking anymore orders (period)

Hey all!

It is my deepest regret to announce that I won’t be taking anymore orders for now until further notice.

Career life has caught up with me that I find no time for orders. I will of course update this blog again once I am able to continue taking new orders. Hence I like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support so far.

Much love!

Key Lime Cupcakes

I’ve always wanted to try these — Key Lime Cupcakes. They’re pretty easy to make. The only troubling part on my case is getting the lime zest and juice. I hate grating… anything! I always get this fear of hurting myself. But oh well, all’s well that ends well.

They’re simply decorated with green sprinkles and a lime candy I found at a candy store.

Ready to be put in the oven.

After 10-minutes of baking.

Teacher’s Day Cupcakes

These were ordered by Joelyn for Teacher’s Day. She had requested various themes for all her 15 cupcakes which was quite an interesting challenge for me.

These are for both her Geography teachers — Mr. & Ms. Teo.

These are for Econs and Mathematics teachers.

I have to be honest here. I’m terribly unsatisfied with these fondant blackboards. Piping on small canvas is just not my forte. It was honestly rather difficult.

My attempt at a Domo figurine. I had to keep the height to a 3cm limit; considering the individual cases that Jo had requested.

This is actually ‘Plants vs. Zombies’ game themed cupcakes with the sunflower and garlic. Quite satisfied with how my garlic turned out.

A simple Happy Family smiley faces. :)

$3.30 per cup (Large) — Flavour: Chocolate Frosting: Fondant Toppers

Cinderella Cupcakes

Here’s a small requested batch for Disney’s Cinderella themed cupcakes.

$3.20 per cup (Medium) — Flavour: Chococolate, Frosting: Fondant

This is by far my first time in attempting modelling fondant human/cartoon figures. Took me hours!! I should charge more for these! Hahaha! Hence the reason I’d charged a tad bit more for the fondant designs. Well anyway, at least I think I gave it my best.

Definitely not too proud of my modellings here. But they still took me so long to do. Eck!

Sesame Street Cupcakes

Another Sesame Street themed cupcakes. This time ordered by Zareena. Thank you!

$2.20 per cup (Medium) — Flavour: Vanilla, Frosting: Buttercream & Fondant Toppers

KPop Shinee Birthday Cake

This marks the first time I ever tried my hands on a 2-tiered cake. I thank my cousin for having the faith in me to taking a stab on it. Yes, my cousin ordered this KPOP themed birthday cake for her daughter’s, Echa’s 10th birthday along with those LEGO cupcakes I’d posted in my previous entry. Her daughter is apparently a big fan of the KPOP group, ‘Shinee’.

Honestly, I did not know anything about KPOP culture. So I did a bit of research on the Korean boy band to get a general idea of it; even listing out the name of all five Shinee’s member names.

Seeing that it was my first time with a tiered cake, naturally I made a couple of mistakes and such. Accidents with stacking the cakes and all are something I really hope won’t happen again if I were to make more in the future.

Admittedly, the end result of the cake was not how I had planned it to be. The original draft included an iPod and an electric guitar on the sides, whilst the ‘Happy Birthday’ wordings were to be place on the cake board. But my gumpaste was a total disaster. So I had to omit them all out. The only gumpaste I eventually used were those 3 glittering stars I’d stick atop the cakes.

Like I said, my gumpaste didn’t work out brilliantly. Hence, I couldn’t make the CD edible as I’d wanted it to be. Eventually I had to stick the edible photo paper onto a CD-shaped plastic to make it stand well.

Overall, I’m satisfied with the look of the cake. It’s far from perfect, but I’m happy with it.

LEGO Birthday Cupcakes

These were ordered by my cousin, Surina for her daughter’s Echa’s 10th birthday party yesterday. She had requested LEGO themed with Nutella filling in the chocolate cupcakes.

$2.90 per cup (Medium) — Flavour: Chocolate, Frosting: Fondant, Filling: Nutella

Seeing that it was the first time I ever tried making this theme, understandably I was a bit apprehensive how they would turn out. I did have general idea how I’m going to make it look but wasn’t sure if I could make them look exactly how I wanted them to be.

Eventually I think they looked even better than how I’d imagine them to be. So yeah, without trying to sound pompous, I’m rather satisfied with the cupcakes.
